Match Pairs

Match the following two-word verbs with their meanings.

Note that STH means something; SB means somebody.

1. come along A. (+ on) get involved in an exciting or profitable activity/opportunity
2. get in B. (+ to) succeed in reaching a physical destination or stage
3. come over  C. come in the area near STH/SB
4. go over D. be happening soon (esp. be broadcast soon)
5. take in E. come to a place or area (spot, room, town, country), esp. towards SB or to join SB
6. get through F. (+ to) reduce itself to one particular thing that is the most important or essential matter
7. come up G. remove STH that was previously put up or put in place
8. take down H. provide a place for SB to live or stay
9. get off I. manage to avoid serious trouble or consequences (esp. legal punishment)
10. come down J. move towards a place or person, esp. by crossing an area (room, city, country)
